What is #grtarot?

NOTICE: I am new to this whole scene, I have written a book about Tarot and worked as a full-time reader for seven years or so, but I recently started tweeting about Tarot. That’s I when I found the hash tags #amtarot and #pmtarot which are a game tweeted by The Tarot Lady. I thought that was a pretty great idea and I started playing it daily. Everyone knows that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I like the game so I wrote up my own version using the hash tag #grtarot. Then I started tweeting it hoping to get followers. This went on for about a week or so until I got a direct message from The Tarot Lady. Her message accused me of being a “copycat”, of plagiarism and of confusing people by running a similar game. Of course, any search of the hash tag #grtarot would show no one was playing. This bothered her so much to send me a direct message? I did not intend any harm or offense, just hoped for a couple of players. Seems a bit much to me. Tarot is about promoting a welcoming and friendly atmosphere; it is about nurturing a sense of growth and understanding. My game is not a copycat move. It is not an infringement to her game. It is just a game. It should just be played for the enjoyment of companionship. Come play with me!

Once per day, at 5pm EST, I will choose a Tarot card and you can share what that Tarot card means to you. Do not be shy. If a card has you stumped try looking for a quote relating to it. There is no judgment involved and you might even makes some friends in the process.  This is a fun way to build your interpretative skills in less than 140 characters.

Please include the following: the card’s name, and the “hash tag” (i.e.: #grtarot). Using the hash tag will show you who else is tweeting about that card. For example, “#grtarot 4 of Pentacles: Sharing is caring, Mr. McDuck”.

Have fun interpreting the Tarot!
