The Chariot

The Chariot represents sheer determination.  This card represents maintaining the balance of control between the light and the dark in our natures.   Doggedness and triumph after a long struggle are also indicated.  Any athlete, particularly those who train for the Olympics, has run the gambit that is The Chariot.  Those who are Sagittarians are associated with The Chariot for their strength of mind and can-do attitude.  The Little Engine That Could, the main character in a children’s book, shows the world that through willpower and encouragement even the smallest engine can conquer a mountainous trek!

Upright:  The Chariot represents focusing intensely on the goal at hand.  Through our own hard work and effort victory is at hand.  This card symbolizes those who have the charisma and kind nature to lead others.  We may be focused too extremely upon our goal.  The Chariot is representative of the inner drive we utilize to achieve our goals and aspirations.  The Chariot appearing can indicate triumph over that which is adverse.  The work and effort we expend will enable us to be triumphant over obstacles and hardships.  The Chariot is associated with travelling and being welcomed home again!  Excellent health and the ability to overcome illness is indicated.

Reversed:  The Chariot reversed represents difficulty in focusing and harnessing our willpower.  A long and hard battle can be indicated.  This card can show that a desire to change our life and quell the restless feeling within is encouraged.  We might feel at loose ends when The Chariot appears reversed.  A break from the struggle is needed.  Rest and recuperation are crucial to gaining back our good health.  Strategizing would be very beneficial at this stage, think about the plan of attack before spurring The Chariot onward.  There is always tomorrow, after all, and we can win the day when we are calm and focused.
