The Empress

The Empress is representative of mothers.  Mother Earth is one of those moms!  This card is the aspect of nurturing love.  Planting season and Spring are both illustrated in this card.  Fertility is also an abundance alluded to in this card.  The Empress represents stewardship and gardening.  She is the triune process of visualization over raw materials and then manifesting something great with that unrefined material.

Upright:  The Empress is the pinnacle of growth!  This card indicates a happy environment for all.  It represents peace and harmony.  Good things are most definitely on the way!  Relationships will no doubt improve.  With this card upright, nothing in the home environment is at risk.  The Empress represents fertility to aspiring parents, a happy home and marriage to couples and contentment with life to everyone.  This is the mother archetype complete with milk and fresh baked cookies for the world.  Nothing could be any better!  The Empress signifies that a cycle of prosperity is about to begin. A supportive environment is indicated by the nourishment women are bringing with them into the home front.

Reversed:  The Empress indicates trouble in the home.  The Empress reversed can signify environmental pollution, low income and inadequate resources, or contaminated land.  A loss in the family or a lack of understanding between its’ members is shown when this card is reversed.  Misunderstandings are occurring within relationships.  An unfortunate year for farmers is indicated.  The home environment is somehow lacking and needs work to improve.  Less abundance and infertility are also represented.  Pay attention to the home environment before things are lost.  The home environment is clearly suffering from a lack of communication among the members.  The Empress will right herself when all is stated effectively and calmly.  Only by coming together to resolve this lack of cohesiveness can the harmony The Empress represents be restored.
