The Fool

The Fool is the only unnumbered card in the Tarot. It represents new beginnings and fresh starts. The phrase, “Look before you leap” is associated strongly with The Fool. He is wide-eyed in wonder and seeks Grand Adventure in the world! The Fool has high hopes and enthusiasm.

Upright: This card signifies new starts.  Maybe there is an entrepreneurial venture.  It shows a willful abandonment to all rules and restrictions.  The Fool is about having an abundance of confidence in one’s self and ideas.  Flying by the seat of your pants is a great way to associate with The Fool.  The adventure we choose to experience is up to us.  There is an abundance yet to do and learn!  Go!  Embark on the Best Adventure Yet and write home about the wonderful events.  Be ready for something new, The Fool says, because it is coming.

Reversed: The Fool still indicates new beginnings; although not as secure as when upright. Some aspect of the fresh start may not be well thought out. Or, the idea being considered is not a solid foundation. This card indicates that the current path will have a tough start, with many delays. Wanting to have instant gratification and rushing things will leave you unprepared for what is ahead.  Think carefully about any new event being considered.  Planning for every outcome is advised, because with The Fool reversed, things will not happen exactly as desired.
