The High Priestess – II

The High Priestess

The High Priestess is the opposite side of The Magician’s coin.  Where The Magician is about bold action, The High Priestess asks one to look inward.  How does this action resonate within?  This is the card of intuition and gut reactions.  Things do not have to make rational sense.  The important issue is, how does it feel?  This is the card for listening to our inner self.  The High Priestess asks that we be open to our feelings.

Upright:  The best course of action is to remain calm.  Be the inner peace you seek.  Allow others to do what they may.  The High Priestess appears to remind us to, “let go, and let flow.”  She encourages us to open our intuition and to feel the energy being sent or received.  “Simply feel, do not act or react,” says The High Priestess.  The methods involved might be new, but do not discount it.  Feel it.  Look beneath the surface.  Do not analyze anything or become too emotionally attached.  Relax and let The High Priestess show us the answer.  She knows what it is, and we will too, if we listen.  If it does not feel right, it is not the best option for us at this time.

Reversed:  Where clear feeling and insight are characteristics of The High Priestess when upright, reversed this card indicates clouded feelings and confusion.  There is too much going on and it muddies the waters.  In this position, The High Priestess is hiding what is known; or the information is not accurate.  What is being sought may not be what is given.  This card represents manipulation of psychic intuition.  Information may be delayed.  There is more to this than meets the eye.  What we see is just the tip of the iceberg.  Be cautious when The High Priestess appears reversed.  She can show things to us that are not honest.  Nor are these things an accurate view of the current situation.
