The Magician

The Magician is the first card of the Major Arcana.  The Magician is about harnessing the creative potential and making it a solid reality.  This is the time!  There will not be another, better, opportunity to manifest ideas.   The Magician knows the correct steps to take to turn ideas into actions.  This is the card of self-assurance and creative genius.

Upright:  The Magician has the power to achieve anything.  This card shows that nothing is beyond reach if the proper actions are taken.  This card shows the tremendous need to utilize the ability to concentrate to our benefit instead of squandering it away. Those who are involved in the fields of business, science, and technology are natural Magicians.  Moreover, The Magician indicates great developments.  Ask and it shall be given because the power is already within you!  Get that idea down on paper; says The Magician, it is time to live the dream!  This card can come up for those wanting to start a family.  Thinking about taking a new direction in life?  The Magician can help you realize that next adventure, too.

Reversed:  All the things that make The Magician a powerful creative force have fallen away.  This means that personal power and creativity are not being harnessed, or even realized.  We may not even know what our talents are.  Situations may not develop fully or the necessary enthusiasm may not be present.  The creative potential is still there; only muted.  Stick with the idea; just because it is not taking shape is no reason to abandon it entirely.  It just needs more work.  We can all do much better than what we are currently achieving says The Magician when it appears reversed.  Remember, what we put into the creative process is what we will get back when it is all said and done.
