The Sun

The Sun

The Sun is the most striking object in the sky.  The Tarot’s Sun represents a full cycle.  A new cycle now begins and with it comes the application of all knowledge to date.  The Sun is prosperity and growth.  Leos are symbolic of this card because they are masters of a successful environment.  The Sun represents finding one’s place in the universe and being content in it.  The Sun shines brightly indeed on all matters and everything is coming up roses!

Upright:  The Sun represents mastery of all lessons learned thus far.  In a sense, we have graduated!  We have toiled and worked long hours toward our goal and we have hard-earned success because of it.  This card indicates growth in farming, the arts and sciences as well.  A happy and successful period is symbolized.  The Sun signifies successful relationships as well.  The Sun represents the freedom to become mobile now that we are finished learning we can go out and experience life.  New career opportunities can be inclusive within the freedom The Sun gives to us. We are indeed “as high as a kite”; soaring above creation and feeling fine!

Reversed:  The Sun reversed can represent a goal or lesson being delayed.  We may have trouble understanding why a delay is present.  The current path of development has stopped moving all-together; take time to reflect and study the situation a solution does exist even if it is not immediately apparent.  Incomplete mastery of a lesson is symbolized when this card appears reversed.  Things are confusing and unsatisfying for us with our goals just out of reach.  Should we go left or right?  The sky is covered with clouds and it is hard to see the way we should take to reach our destination.  The Sun reversed advises us to seek counsel to get back on track so we can continue to learn.  Solve the knowledge gap.  This is only a small stepping stone to conquer on the way to completion of our goals!
