Pentacles are indicative of material goods and money.  This is the hard-working, nose to the grindstone suit of the Tarot.  To have money, and material possessions, we must first earn it.  Money talks though and the Pentacles do tell the world all about our current situation.  Money is seen throughout the suit of Pentacles.  People are counting it, spending it, and hoarding it.  After all, Pentacles are the dearest to us.  They indicate financial security and nice things; if we are willing to work for them.  Capricorns, Taureans and Virgos are represented by this suit.  Each of them value striving for a goal and security above all else.  Pentacles may seem to be a strange symbol for hard work and material gain, until we consider what they can give us.  The five-pointed star surrounded by a circle represents grounding and manifestation.  Thus, the Pentacles are the perfect symbol for the suit that is the most tangible and solid of the Tarot.
