Eight of Pentacles

The Eight of Pentacles shows that we are skilled artisans because we have refined our talents.  Because we have done so, we have streamlined our productivity.  We are very capable of working hard to earn even more.  Practice makes perfect says the Eight of Pentacles.  A strong, capable worker will advance well because the talents she has are well rounded.

Upright:  The Eight of Pentacles illustrates that we have our eyes on the goal before us.  We understand that if we keep at it, not only will we be rewarded for the efforts but our skills will become more honed and refined.  We will do well for ourselves if we continue to practice more and more.  We will be successful in our chosen career path.  The work expended can only be used to benefit us further down the road.  Daily work may seem repetitive and a little bit like working on an assembly line, but by finding what we are truly skilled at doing, we are actually contributing to our present and future successes.  In this way we are, in effect, paying ourselves by investing in what we do.  Completely and whole heartedly we are our own bosses and investors now!

Reversed:  Productivity has halted or slowed due to workplace conditions or substandard work because the process is not well designed.  Clearly, the lack of speedy efficient work is less than desirable.  Profits have slowed and may be less in the coming year unless efficiency is restored.  Labor disputes or employees who are unhappy with their contacts are represented by the Eight of Pentacles reversed.  Investments will show little signs of profit.  It may be time to think about training for a different career or finding another place of employment.  Think long and carefully about the circumstances surrounding this lack of gainful production and the all the possible ways to return to a higher profit margin.  What can be done to take us from the red into the black again?  A happy worker is a productively skilled and well-rested worker.
