Four of Swords

Four of Swords
The Four of Swords is not a frightening card. Rather this card shows the value of rest and relaxation. When the Four of Swords comes up, it is time to break from the worries and the activity and just let it be. This is a calming and centering card amidst all the mental action of the swords suit.
Upright: Is work too much to handle right now, or maybe family life is stressful? The Four of Swords indicates that a well-deserved break is coming. This is not a break from physical activity as much as it is one of mental activity; the chores and duties can wait for a bit while we meditate on life. Relax and enjoy the time out from the hassle of life. Use this time to plan the next step on the path. This card can represent a period of recuperation from surgery or illness. Evaluation of the progress made thus far is wise. Enjoy the calm before getting back out into the next dispute that arises. “Time to recharge those batteries!” says the Four of Swords.
Reversed: The Four of Swords reversed shows that the time for resting is over and the action can commence. There is an abundance of energy stored up ready to be utilized in planning future goals. The Four of Swords when reversed indicates that great opportunities are available to us but that we must use caution in pursuing them. This is not a problem, however, because we are ready for anything now that we have the energy. The Four of Swords can signify changes of all kinds; especially those regarding politics or the work place. Fancy footwork and a sharp mind will be needed to navigate these delicate issues safely. The use of keen observation and a skilled understanding of others actions will serve us well in bringing forth our desired plans into reality.
