Seven of Swords

Seven of Swords

Seven of Swords

The Seven of Swords is a sneaky and deceptive card.  Indicated here are the secrets kept from authority figures and those who would like to know what is happening.  Perhaps someone broke the favorite vase or is planning to sneak out after curfew.  Tricks of the mind and craftiness are found when the Seven of Swords appears.

Upright:  The Seven of Swords shows up to tell us that we can expect things to be unreliable.  Things may not go according to our plans.  The truth is being kept under the rug.  “Don’t tell Grandma that I broke the window,” is the sort of message we can anticipate with this card.  Theft of any sort can be represented by this card whether it is literal, shoplifting; or the stealing of an idea, plagiarism.  Be wary of dishonesty herein.  Forewarned is forearmed.  The Seven of Swords can signify the deceptive mind and emotional states as well as the act of suspicion.  Sticking it to The Man can be associated with the Seven of Swords when we apply the card’s meaning of our frame of mind.

Reversed:  Though when upright this card means a bit of trouble, now the Seven of Swords indicates that everything will come out right and true in the end.  What is lost will be found and what was taken will be returned.  Advice and counsel will be given for the good of all.  Apologies will likely be made and accepted by those concerned.  The person who took the item or idea as their own will come clean about the thievery involved.  “I’m sorry I broke the cookie jar,” or “I thought it was supposed to be done this way—honest!” will be encountered as wrongs done inadvertently are righted.
