Six of Swords

The Six of Swords indicates moving forward.  The past can be difficult to overcome.  This card shows that gathering what is needed and going on is a necessary part of the journey which must be undertaken.  Regardless of the outcome, the future will be better than the past.

Upright:  The Six of Swords shows motion.  Things cannot remain as they are currently.  This card represents making the hard choices and changing as a result.  The end of one path is the beginning of another.  The trying and difficult times are coming to a close.  The Six of Swords signifies leaving unhappy circumstances.  In departing from these gloomy times, we have made way for harmonious times to come forth.  Only by closing that sad door can a happy door open.  A shift in the way of thinking is necessary to achieve the peace and tranquility that we are seeking.  Expand the mind to allow for many solutions to exist and the answer will come.

Reversed:  Where there was movement, now there is only stagnation and delay when the Six of Swords appears reversed.  Things are not going as expected and leaving the past behind cannot happen at this time.  More is to be done before the change can take place.  We need to rethink our strategy and consider other methods.  Grief may be holding us back from moving forward at present.  Waiting for a better opportunity is advised now.  Use the time to plan out how things will proceed and be creative with the planning if the first option is unavailable.  The freedom being sought will be available soon enough, says the Six of Swords; and it is ripe for the picking to those who have planned for the opportunity!
