Nine of Wands

Nine of Wands

The Nine of Wands represents waiting for the change that is coming. The work from the eight is still standing to remind one and all of the work accomplished. Much is done and it has been done well. We have the strength and stamina to see that the progress continues as the Nine of Wands shows us.

Upright: This card may look downtrodden but it is not. The Nine of Wands is prepared for what whatever is coming its’ way. We have the experience to handle anything that is necessary. This is person who has worked hard to establish himself and now that place has been earned. Those who hold steadfast to the philosophy that they maintain are indicated by the Nine of Wands. Having the fortitude to defend others and ourselves is strongly associated with the Nine of Wands. We have developed and honed perseverance, stamina and our strength of character because of what we have fought for and will continue to protect. This card symbolizes that great things are in store!

Reversed: The desire to protect others is still present; but when the Nine of Wands is reversed, it is all we can do to look after our own needs. We could be vulnerable, unable to fight or just simply too tired to move. We do not have the stamina or physical willpower to see things through. This card reminds us all that resting before returning to the fight is strongly advised. We are too weary to continue through the struggle at this time. The Nine of Wands can represent being worried or dissatisfied with the way things are going. Once rested and given time to reorganize we are better able to again take up the quest for the goal!
